CSR Focus Areas & CSR Initiatives
Sanitation: Promoting Hygiene in Schools
Rural school development has been a cornerstone of Zerodha Cares' initiatives. In Mandya District, Zerodha partnered with an NGO to address the lack of basic amenities in a rural school. The project successfully constructed toilets, benefitting more than 3000 school children. This small yet impactful initiative involved village panchayats, parents, government officers, and the community to create awareness about the necessity of toilets for the students.
Education: Supporting education for children
Zerodha is sponsoring the education of 15 tribal students covering academic tutoring, soft skill training, education materials, food, clothing, lodging, toiletries, educational trips, pre-vocational training, and healthcare expenses. The aim is to strengthen and sustain the academic learning interest in tribal children, leading them to take up higher studies and empowering their future
Healthcare:Improving the health and quality of life
Zerodha Cares supports Mobile Medicare Unit (MMU) initiatives with its NGO partner. The program has both immediate short-term impact and long-term improvement in the health and quality of life of marginalized beneficiaries. MMUs address problems of unaffordability, inaccessibility, and non-availability of basic essential healthcare for the poor elderly, with one unit reaching out to 28000-30000 treatments in a year, covering 2000-3000 patients.
Environment: Working Towards a Greener Tomorrow
Considering the consequences of climate change, Zerodha Cares has collaborated with various NGOs to fight against climate change by making the city green. The project includes planting ten thousand trees and developing two man-made islands at Somanahalli Lake. Additionally, Zerodha Cares has successfully planted one thousand trees at Cubbon Park.
